# LinkedIn Profile and Company Page: A 2026 Guide

![Two paper panels side by side, one standing for a person and one for a company, connected by a green line on a dark background.](https://www.zyntaflow.com/hubfs/zynta-pilot/blog-feature-images/en/linkedin-profile-and-company-page-guide-2026.png)

TL;DR

On **LinkedIn**, your personal profile starts conversations and the **company page** holds the brand's proof and track record. Both take text, images, video, PDF documents and link cards. **Zynta Flow** publishes and schedules to both through the official API, posts the first comment for you, tracks the page's numbers and imports the profile analytics LinkedIn lets you export.

Post on both, but give each one a job. The profile is where people talk to you; the page is where the company shows what it did, for whom, and what it sells. Treat the page as a copy of the profile and you end up with two weak accounts.

## Why the profile usually outperforms the page

People follow people. A founder explaining a decision that went wrong tends to get more comments than the same idea posted by the page, because it has a face and an opinion. The page still matters. It is what someone opens before booking a call, and a last post from eight months ago makes them wonder whether the company is still around.

In practice: opinions, behind the scenes and the reasoning behind decisions go on the profile. Case studies, launches, job openings, events and material the company signs go on the page.

For an **agency running several clients**, that means two calendars per client: the founder's and the page's.

## Which LinkedIn formats work right now?

**Plain text** is still the cheapest thing to produce, and a good idea in text gets comments without any design. The first two lines show before "see more" and decide whether anyone reads the rest.

**Documents** are LinkedIn's carousel: a PDF people swipe through in the feed. [LinkedIn Help](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a518909) allows up to 100 MB and 300 pages, but a good document has one idea per page and ends when the idea ends. The walkthrough is in [how to make a LinkedIn carousel](https://www.zyntaflow.com/blog/how-to-make-linkedin-carousel-2026).

**Video** works when it is you explaining something you know well, without the commercial look. **Images** suit events and behind the scenes. A **link card** shows a title, description and thumbnail, and through the API you write the title and description yourself.

Whatever the format, tag the other company's page when it is part of the story (a client, a partner, an event), and keep only the hashtags someone would actually follow.

Plenty of people put the link in the first comment to keep the post clean, which means being on their phone the minute the post goes live.

## Measuring profile and page: what does LinkedIn let you see?

LinkedIn is uneven here. Company pages have a statistics API: followers gained per day, post engagement, page views, and the professional demographics of your followers. Knowing your audience is mostly directors in healthcare changes next month's content plan.

For personal profiles, LinkedIn only opens its analytics API to approved partners; in Zynta, profile numbers come from the spreadsheet LinkedIn itself exports from Analytics. If you are a **solo creator** or a founder tracking your own profile, that file is where the data comes from.

LinkedIn also reports who started following a page but never who unfollowed, so the new-followers line only goes up or stays flat, and losses only show in the total follower count. For a map of what to track on each network, see [social media analytics: what to track](https://www.zyntaflow.com/blog/social-media-analytics-what-to-track).

## How Zynta Flow connects your profile and your page

You connect LinkedIn inside the brand kit: the profile, the page, or both. For a page, you need to be one of its admins.

The composer publishes text, images, MP4 video, link cards and documents through LinkedIn's official API. Two or more slides become a PDF and go out as a document, with the first line of the caption as the document's name in the feed. With the company page connected to the brand, to mention another company you paste the page link (linkedin.com/company/...) and Zynta fetches its exact name; if LinkedIn rejects the mention, the post goes out with the name as plain text instead of not going out at all.

The first comment is posted right after the post, by its author (you or the page), up to 1,250 characters, and only when you have marked it as approved.

Before you save, the composer flags what LinkedIn will refuse (a .mov file, two videos, a video with images or with a link card). Since a LinkedIn connection expires every 60 days, it also warns you when the account will expire before the post date. That is what prevents the Tuesday 9 a.m. post that fails while nobody is looking.

AI captions and the AI content plan both have a LinkedIn version, and the plan alternates documents and text posts. If you publish to a page at volume, I covered how to [publish to a LinkedIn company page automatically](https://www.zyntaflow.com/blog/publish-to-linkedin-company-page-automatically).

## What shows up in Insights

For the page, with daily tracking turned on in the brand kit (the screen shows what it costs in credits), Zynta reads every day the followers gained (organic and paid), post statistics (impressions, clicks, reactions, comments and shares), page views and follower demographics: seniority, industry, job function, company size, country and region. When you connect, it pulls months of history in one go, and the posts it published get their numbers refreshed daily for three months.

For the profile, you import the spreadsheet LinkedIn exports. For an **in-house brand team**, that settles the monthly review: the CEO's profile and the company page on one screen.

Scheduling is free; each published post costs 5 credits per network, and a failed publish costs nothing. If you work with an AI agent, it can schedule LinkedIn posts through the [Zynta MCP server](https://www.zyntaflow.com/blog/mcp-server-for-social-media).

## Frequently asked questions about LinkedIn profiles and company pages

### What is the difference between a LinkedIn profile and a company page?

A personal profile belongs to one person, and the people who follow it are following someone. A company page belongs to the organization and is run by one or more admins. Profiles tend to start more conversations. The page works as the brand's storefront and is the only one of the two that Zynta measures through the API.

### Should I post the same content on my profile and the company page?

Reuse the idea, not the text. On the profile, tell in the first person what you saw or decided. On the page, present the result, the case study or the material on behalf of the company. Posting identical text from both accounts on the same day makes them compete for the same audience's attention.

### Is a LinkedIn carousel a document or multiple images?

The swipeable format in the feed is the document, a multi-page PDF. Zynta Flow turns two or more slides into a PDF and publishes it as a document post, while a single image goes out as an image post. According to LinkedIn Help, documents can be up to 100 MB and 300 pages.

### Can I see personal profile analytics outside LinkedIn?

Through the API, only in tools LinkedIn has approved as partners. In Zynta Flow, the way in is exporting the spreadsheet from Analytics inside LinkedIn and importing it: the import shows impressions, engagement, top posts, followers and demographics for the exported period.

### Why put the link in the first comment?

The post text stays clean, reading is not interrupted, and the link is still right there for anyone who wants to click. It also works for citing a source. In Zynta Flow, the first comment goes out right after the post, by its author, up to 1,250 characters, as long as it is approved.

### What happens when a LinkedIn connection expires?

A LinkedIn connection lasts 60 days, and a post scheduled on an expired one would fail at its time. Zynta Flow warns you in the composer when the account has expired, will expire before the post date, or expires within the week, so you can reconnect first. A failed publish spends no credits.

### How much does it cost to publish on LinkedIn with Zynta Flow?

Scheduling is free. Each published post costs 5 credits per network, charged only when the post actually goes out, and a failed publish costs nothing. You can schedule a whole month of posts without spending a credit until each post's date arrives.

## Put it into practice

Connect your profile and your company page, schedule a week of posts, and see who follows the page, by seniority and industry, in the same place.
